Green Stimulus and General Membership Meeting!

***GREEN NEWS FLASH! ***

THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS WORKFORCE CENTERS ARE RECEIVING A SUBSTANTIAL BOOST THROUGH FEDERAL STIMULUS MONEY FOR THEIR YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM.  THEY HAVE ASKED TO PARTNER WITH US TO FIND POTENTIAL YOUTH EMPLOYERS—WITH A FOCUS ON “GREEN” INDUSTRY—FOR SUMMERTIME JOBS.  A REPRESENTATIVE PLANS TO BE AT OUR MEMBERSHIP MEETING, THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 4 TO CONSIDER INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND ANSWER QUESTIONS.  THIS IS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY.  PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD THAT FUNDING IS AVAILABLE FOR LOTS OF GREEN PROJECTS!

From our bylaws:All people who sign up for mailings lists, attend workshops, or otherwise express an interest are considered members of FCSSC.”  A sustainable community is one that works for all.  This meeting will give updates on various local initiatives, an open forum time to consider new green community ideas, and a selection process to choose new members for the Coordinating Team.  Enjoy great local snacks, visit the community garden and add your head, heart and hands to discovering ways to build and nurture sustainable communities!
